Harris Eisenstadt Vancouver Quartet

 

"Clearly the result of pretty minimal rehearsal but Harris was good at getting the most out of the situation--the tunes were straightforward, mostly a page of MS paper, with some really neat quirky grooves for the band to chew on. The concert started out with them feeling things out but by the time they hit the tune "Vancouver" things were cooking & I genuinely regretted that there wasn't a 2nd set. Harris's ability to be graceful in his time feel & commentaries rather than sounding like some percussion demon was much appreciated, & his hookup with Schoenbeck was terrific.
